Bristol Old Vic Play + Workshop "The Odyssey" |
Armstrong Hall |
ADAPTED FOR THE STAGE BY TOBY HULSE |
After the fall of Troy, Odysseus sets sail from his island Kingdom of Ithaca. However his ten year voyage is to be fraught with dangers - the one-eyed giant of Polyphemus; the sorceress Circe; the Sirens who lure sailors to their death; the twin horrors of Scylla and Charybdis; and a terrfying journey to the depths of the Underworld. The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, following the success of its Macbeth Schools Tour now presents a thrilling and accessible adaptation of Homer's epic poem, to excite the imagination and offer a rich theatrical experience for children aged 7-11. |
The performance is completely self-contained and runs for one hour and ten minutes, including a workshop and discussion preceding the show, giving an insight into the production and the world of the Ancient Greeks. |
